Annual salary: £25,000 ~ £28,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
The Scottish Canoe Association, (SCA) is the governing body for canoeing and kayaking in Scotland. SCA athletes won silver medals in Canoe Slalom at each of the last 3 Olympic Games and Tim Baillie won Britain’s first ever gold medal in Canoe Slalom at this year’s London Olympics. Since 2007 the SCA has operated an Athlete Development and Performance Programme – made possible by sport scotland investment – which provides coach led training and support in both Slalom and Sprint Canoeing. Successes in 2012 include:
6 out of the 15 athletes selected for the GB Junior Slalom Team competing at World and European Championships were Scottish – with a young Scot in every category/class
Scottish sprint athletes selected for GB Junior Sprint Team competing at European Championships and the Olympic Hopes Regatta
The SCA needs an extremely capable individual to:
deliver coach-led training to programme athletes in the Tayside & Fife area on a day to day basis
deliver coaching at training camps and races which are supported by the Performance Programme
play a part in the success of the overall SCA Strategic Plan; deliver first class, professional coaching to deliver Scottish Olympic and World and European Championship success.
coordinate and progress the training environment for programme athletes
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and effective slalom coach with a proven track record of improving the performance of young athletes. S/he will relish being part of a successful, geographically distributed team of coaches working to achieve the objectives of the overall SCA.

Interviews and a practical assessment including the delivery of a coaching session to athletes will be held Saturday 17th November 2012 (full day) at Grandtully/Aberfeldy.
