Congratulations to CANI Squad Members who were racing in the Pinkston Division 1 Race last weekend. After the long journey north to Pinkston White Water Course which is situated on the outskirts of Glasgow, CANI Athlete’s Alistair McCreery, Kirsten Eatock and Kiera Davidson lined up against a packed field of athlete’s from around the U.K.

On Saturday in the K1M Category Alistair McCreery finished 2nd, he showed great pace throughout the day and had two very solid performances coming agonizingly close to taking first place by less than 3 seconds. In the K1W Category Kirsten Eatock continued where she left off in Nottingham and continues to improve over this season, she finished in 14th place showing again her hard work in training is paying off. In her first race of the season Kiera Davidson showed great composure to finish in 20th giving herself more confidence going into Sunday.

On Sunday Alistair took to the water with high expectations, unfortunately with a couple of errors on his run 6 seconds of penalties he ended up finishing 7th. Although a disappointing results Alistair is sure to be on top spot soon. With even more female paddler’s taking part in Sunday’s Race Kirsten and Kiera took to the water hoping to keep their momentum going. With a quick time of 141.32 Kirsten improved her performance from Saturday and finished in 10th place, unfortunately touches again proved to be costly and Kiera ended up finishing in 24th position however still a very respectable result for her first race weekend this season and will hopefully allow her to build for the second half of the season.

We look forward to seeing these athletes compete in Washburn in less than a weeks time.
