Congratulations to CANI Squad Members who were racing in the Washburn Division 1 Race last weekend. CANI athlete’s Alistair McCreery and Kirsten Eatock arrived at Washburn on Friday to prepare for a tough weekend of racing.
On Saturday in the K1M Category Alistair McCreery finished 1st, he showed great pace throughout the day and had two very solid performances finally that was enough to clinch the win and 1000 points. In the K1W Category Kirsten Eatock continued where she left off in Pinkston and continues to improve over this season, she finished in 27th place with a time of 127.18+4 with a raw time less than 10 seconds off 1st place she is becoming very competitive in the Division 1 Category.
On Sunday Alistair took to the water with high expectations, unfortunately with a couple of errors on his run and a 2 second penalty he ended up finishing 2nd place by less than a second. Although a disappointing results Alistair is sure to be back on top spot soon. Sunday’s Race Kirsten took to the water hoping to keep their momentum going and with a quick time of 127.77+4 she improved her performance from Saturday and finished in 22nd place.
CANI Squad athlete’s are just finishing off a camp at HPP in Nottingham and we look forward to hearing how they got on soon.
