Success at McConkey Premier and Division 1 Race

Congratulations to CANI Talent Squad Slalom Squad Members who were racing last weekend in Nottingham. Saturday saw Jake Cochrane, Elliot Davidson and Kirsten Eatock line up alongside an international field ready to take on a tricky Premier course.

A solid qualification run Elliot Davidson saw him safely qualify to the semi-finals in 18th place unfortunately a mistake in the semi-finals cost him, and he finished in 23rd in K1 Men Category. Unfortunately for Jake Cochrane a 50 on each run cost him the chance to progress to the semi-final but with a fast raw time he was not too disappointed, Jake finished in 17th place in the C1 Men Category. Kirsten Eatock took part in the Judge’s Race showing a hard winter of training has paid of and she finished in 29th place.

On Sunday Kirsten Eatock and Jake Cochrane came back to the white water course to compete this time in the Division 1 race. Taking their experiences from the previous day they set out for an exciting day of racing. Jake Cochrane was up first and with a tidier run than the day before he managed to secure 1st place with a convincing win beating second place by over 4 seconds. Kirsten Eatock had two very solid runs and was rewarded with a 24th place finish.

Well done to those competing and we look forward to more results from Pinkston in 3 weeks.
