Updated 3 April – Scaffolding at Verners Bridge (River Blackwater)

Take care if you are paddling the River Blackwater as there is construction taking place on Verners Bridge which is below the Argory. The bridge is covered in scaffolding which is all above water level. You can paddle under the scaffolding but do so with caution as there are exposed scaffolding poles.  On Sunday 3rd April there was approximately 90cm from the bottom of the vertical poles to the water.  Between the vertical poles there is about 1 metre more clearance to the lowest horizontal pole.  Be aware there are some poles with short cross pieces at the bottom.

Note the Bridge is closed to traffic and there is no vehicle access to the car park / slipway.  Signs on the site say it will be closed from the 14th March for 10 weeks.
