Appropriate paddling kit should be brought, everyone should also be self sufficient for camping i.e.: food, stove and tent etc.

Meet and Trip Plan:

We will meet on Saturday 12th September at access point 4 at Portglenone on the Lower Bann Trail for a 10am start and finish at access point 9 at Agivey Bridge on Sunday 13th September at 4.00pm.  The two day’s paddle will be relaxed and we will spend our night camping along the Lower Bann, please bring enough food and water for the camping trip.
All paddles are subject to weather conditions.

Venue Description:

Stretching from Lough Neagh to the Atlantic Ocean, this Canoe Trail provides a unique way to experience the beautiful River Bann. Passing through constantly changing scenery, the trail offers both tranquil waters and some faster flowing sections. The river is also steeped in history dating back to Mesolithic times.

The cost of this trip will be free to CANI Members and £10.00 for Non Members.

The cost for Boat hire will be £10.00 to CANI Members and £15.00 for Non Members if you require Boat, Paddle, and Buoyancy Aid please note it in the additional information on the booking form.

“If you plan to take part in more than one recreation paddle why not take out recreational membership at a cost of £18 per year or family membership at a cost of £25 introductory and £5 for each additional member per year. This would be much more economical, as recreational paddles are free to all members and the cost of boat hire is at a reduced price.”
