This recreational paddles is suitable and open to families, clubs, paddlers of all ages and abilities and can be paddled in any type of craft. So dust down your boat and come and join us on these social paddles. If you don’t have a boat you can hire an open canoe or kayak from CANI at a reasonable cost. Appropriate paddling kit should be brought, for example: Buoyancy Aid, Waterproof and change of clothes etc.
Meet and Trip Plan:
We will meet on Saturday 4th June at Portadown Boat Club on the Bann for a 11am start. The trip plan will be to paddle up the Bann and Newry Canal. Then cross over into the Cusher and paddle down the Cusher, back into the Bann to finish back at Portadown Boat Club for 2pm. The day’s paddle will be relaxed, with a few breaks and pleasant lunch stop in the middle, so please bring a lunch along with you.
All paddles are subject to weather conditions.
Venue Description:
The Bann River, Newry Canal and Cusher River offer a really sheltered trip with no shuttle required, which is great for beginners.
