Parents Protect Programme

NOTA (NI) in partnership with Stop It Now! Uk and Ireland wish to promote the Parents Protect Programme as a public health approach to raising adult awareness of sexual abuse in order to help reduce the risk of child sexual abuse.

Stop It Now! Northern Ireland Committee have organised 2 1/2 hour training events on Monday 21st March 2011, to facilitate learning for those who would wisk to deliver the Parent Protect Programme.

For more details on the programme itself please seethe attached flyer. Only those who are in a position to deliver the presentation directly to parents should attend the training, but others may benefit from visiting the Parents Protect web site for their own learning.

Aim of the Event;
To enable safeguarding trainers in community, sports or faith based settings, family centre staff or police officers to deliver a community education training event to parents. The event will provide attendees with the resources and information to engage and enpower parents to better protect children from sexual abuse. The training sessions will take place in Belfast, from 10.00am-12.30pm and will be repeated from 2.00pm-4.00pm
