A fantastic day was had by everyone involved at the Newry and Mourne fund raising event at Shaw’s Bridge. Special thanks to John Hubbocks, Tony Maher, Liz McCreery, Ashley Hunter, C.H. Caravan, Chill McAnulty and Belfast City Council for their help in organising and staging of the event. The NI Fire & and Rescue Service were on hand to provide a top up on water levels in the Lagan.
While the turnout was lower than hoped the majority of the paddlers enjoyed several timed runs and enthusiasm amongst the group was high. Discussions are planned in relation to simplifying the running of future small events.
