Thank you for taking an interest in the New Leadership awards and becoming a Provider.
We currently have 30 experienced Leadership Providers that deliver British Canoeing Leadership Training and Assessment Courses across Northern Ireland.
We need to recruit Providers to support our delivery aspirations and support the increase in demand we expect for these fantastic programmes. We welcome applications from women and minority groups who are currently under-represented in our wider team.
We welcome applications from members of the Rafting and Stand Up Paddleboard
communities who may not at the moment have involvement with Canoe Association of Northern Ireland or British Canoeing.
Being a Leadership Provider is demanding, but also very rewarding as you will be directly supporting, mentoring and assessing leaders who go on to introduce, support and develop tens of thousands of people exploring the environment through our sport.
In this application pack you will find information on how to apply as well as the requirements of the role and application forms/options
I wish you good luck in your application

Due to the current social distancing measures and travel restrictions we are not able to confirm dates or fees at this time. However, we are conscious that for many travels will be difficult, nights away from home impractical and for many who have been unable to work during the pandemic funds will be tight.
We will endeavour to run orientations for new providers ‘at cost’ and limit travel and overnight accommodation requirements. For this to happen we need to understand number of applicants, geographical spread etc.
Dates & costs will be communicated to on the 10th July.
Successful or not applicants will be given the opportunity to discuss their application, explore possible actions to strengthen future applications or discuss suitable alternatives.
Applications can be made via our on-line application form. However, if you would prefer to submit your application via email please use the word document version in the application pack.
If you would like to submit an application in a different format or would like to discuss a reasonable adjustment to the recruitment process or discuss your suitability for the role before applying please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Regardless of the method of submission the deadline for submissions is 12 noon 23rd June 2020.
Applications submitted after this time will not be considered for this intake and will be placed on a reserve list for future intakes.
If submitting applications via email please ensure you send the document as a word document, please do not lock or convert to PDF, submissions should be sent to email@example.com
Conditions Attached to the Role:
Leadership Providers are considered a ‘managed provider role’. Aspirant providers who reside in Scotland, Wales or England or who are SCA, Canoe Wales or British Canoeing English Members should complete the relevant form from their National Association Website.
A condition of holding the role is that you maintain CANI Membership. If, in the future, you move residence to Scotland, Wales or England or National Association membership, the role will not automatically transfer and will need to be reviewed with the new nations coaching manager, this will include a workforce needs assessment and may include reviewing your application on the most up to date provider requirements.
Applications are open to aspirant providers who reside internationally, however there is no guarantee that we will have an orientation event in your country, so please consider the need to travel to the UK for orientation and future community events to keep your provider role active.
