Over the past year CANI Talent Coach Matt McKnight has been involved in a SportNI Development Programme called “Coaching Connects”. This year long programme is aimed at highly performing coaches from all sports who are working with Talented Athletes to help challenge and develop them to become the next generation of High Performance Coaches. Over the course of the year Matt attended a number of cross sport learning workshops alongside individual mentoring sessions and a coaching project. This programme challenged Matt’s coaching philosophy and with the use of experts from within SportNI and the UK helped to bring a deeper understanding of his coaching pedagology. We are very grateful to SportNI for accepting Matt onto this programme and hope the athletes he has been working with have benefited from it.
