Vacancy – Canoe Wales Performance Coach – Slalom
Canoe Wales, the Governing Body for canoeing and kayaking in Wales are seeking an enthusiastic and capable individual to join a small and motivated team delivering the Canoe Wales Performance Programmes, which is supported by annual investment from Sport Wales.
Job title: Performance Coach – Slalom
Contract: Full time, fixed term contract until 31st March 2019 – pending support from Sport Wales, which is confirmed on an annual basis
Salary: £20 – 22.5k per annum – dependent on qualifications and experience.
Location: The post will be based in Cardiff, with weekend and camp work across the UK and travel to Europe for specific dates.
Outline job description:
Leading and delivering training to Programme athletes on a day to day basis .
Organising training camps for the Programme and delivering coaching at these camps .
Providing race support to junior paddlers at UK ranking and selection races and at nominated races abroad.
Integrating coaching sessions with other home nations and British Canoeing to ensure that the pathway for Canoe Wales athletes is sustainable and effective.
Working with other Canoe Wales staff to ensure that performance programmes are integrated with the canoeing landscape within Wales.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and effective coach with a proven track record performance and working in an environment that requires solution based thinking to maximise the potential of athletes.
