Its Been a Busy Weekend for Canoeing!

Irish Canoe and Kayak Intervarsities 2017

The Irish Canoe and Kayak Intervarsities kicked off early on Friday morning (3rd Feb) with the first of 5 events. Students from across Ireland came to participate in their discipline, fighting to become an ‘Intervarsities Champion’. The athletes were enthusiastic throughout the weekend which saw great competition in canoe slalom, freestyle, whitewater, polo and long distance events. The weather was kind and the events was well organised. Shaw’s Bridge Canoe Slalom

Sunday 5th February also saw the return of the ‘Shaw’s Bridge Canoe Slalom’. There was competition from a wide variety of athletes and clubs which made for a great day of paddling. Congratulations to all those who competed in the Paddle4sport event and a massive Thank you to Newry and Mourne Sea-Kayaing and Canoe Club for a fantastic day.
