Entry Fee: All in fee Juniors £5 – Seniors £10 to be paid with entry.

Event Details :
1000m fully buoyed 6 lane deep water regatta course
K1 heats will be open and may be seeded for all classes (males, females, juniors) combined based on past history, performance, etc, at the organisers discretion.
Heat times will determine qualification to Finals:
Fastest from the heats qualify for Final A.
Qualification for other finals may be purely on times, or may be by class at the discretion of the organisers.
Crew boat races (K2) will be dependent upon entries received and are likely to be straight Finals
Closing date for entries is Tuesday 23rd July

Location Details
Castlewellan Lake is part of Castlewellan Forest Park.
There is a £4.50 charge per car (12.50 for minibus) for access to the park . Please be prepared to pay this in sterling!
‘Proper’ Camping is available on site- toilets, showers, café, etc- it is £16.50 per tent so worth bringing big tents! Youth Groups can book ‘field type’ camping for much less.

Racing Notes for Clubs:
· All K boats must comply with ICF rules regarding boat weight standards ie 12 kg for K1 and 18 kg for K2.
· Lifejackets are compulsory for all paddlers
· Clubs should nominate a Team Leader for the regatta who can liaise with the race organisers. There will be a team leaders meeting at 10.00am on Sunday at the regatta course. All paddlers should be on site by 10.00.
· The timetable is very tight so please make sure that all paddlers and crews arrive at the start line in good time (at least 5 minutes) before their race is due to start. The starter will not wait if paddlers are not in the start area when called.
· All athletes should wear their club colours and all boats should have race numbers
· The K2 races are likely to be straight finals.
· Closing date for entries is Tuesday 23rd July – please make sure that your club entries arrive in good time.
· National Sprint Championship titles will be awarded to the first Irish paddler both male and female in the K1 class 1000m, 200m and 5000m finals – see below.
· Perpetual National Title Trophies will be awarded at Sprint AGM for points gained in K1 200m, 1000m & 5000m events. Points will be awarded for top ten finishes in athletes’ class. Trophies will be awarded to Male and Female athletes with the highest accumulated points in Senior, U23,Junior, U15 classes.
· Entries will also be accepted in the K boat classes from paddlers who wish to paddle other types of boats eg sea-boats, down river or wild water boats, provided they do not exceed maximum length for K1 of 5.2m or for K2 of 6.5m and exceed the minimum weight.
· Lightnings will be used by multiple paddlers and must be returned immediately after use. For this reason U-12 500m course will be a circuit, not a straight.
· Please obey the instructions of the Race Starter and other Race Officials at all times and bear with us if we don’t get it right first time. Failure to do so will result in disqualification .
