Coast to Coast adventure race are looking for a club or a number of clubs to get involved with the event providing kayak cover and marshalling. The event is now in its 6th Year and the organisers are delighted to now have many international teams signing up for 2016, one of which being the world famous Richard Usher from NZ, the director of the original coast to coast New Zealand.
The race covers 300k from Enniscrone to Newcastle Co Down. The kayak section is quite long at 27k from Ballinamore to Ballyconnell and there will be a range of abilities taking part in the event. There are a few portages and sections of open water in the form of Garadice and a few smaller lakes than can get lumpy if it gets up. Paddlers are required to help with safety in these sections of the race.
Clubs that get involved would benefit from being involved in the staging of an international event, be branded on our website with links to the club page, they would feature on the official video and everyone on the day would receive a merchandise pack of official coast to coast team gear to the value of £60. The organisers will also cover fuel and provide food for everyone at the Share Centre at the end of the day.
