Foyle Race – 2013
Sea Kayak racing around the 3 Bridges !
Date: Sunday 22nd September
Registration from : 11.00am
Race starts: 12.00 Noon
There will be 3 separate races: –
Race 1. Prehen Boathouse – Foyle Bridge – Boathouse (10km )
Race 2. Prehen Boathouse – Peace Bridge – Boathouse (3.5km)
Race 3. Prehen Boathouse – Craigavon Bridge – Boathouse (2 km)
Boat Types
This event is traditionally held as a Sea Kayak Race. However, any boat ….from a GP
to K Boats and Doubles are all welcome.
Categories
Race 1 (Foyle Bridge) – Under 16s, U18s, Seniors (Male & Female)
NB: Paddlers should be approximately 2 Star standard, or capable of paddling independently,
as this race includes some exposed river sections.
Race 2 (Peace Bridge) – Under14s, U16s, U18s and Seniors (Male & Female)
Race 3 (Craigavon Bridge) – Under 12s, U14s, U16s and Seniors (Male & Female)
The above categories may be amended in the interests of fairness and competition.
Medals will be awarded in each race category.
Entry Fee: Juniors £3 and Seniors £5
Refreshments will be provided to all competitors and travelling supporters! Hope to
see you all there for a great day out.
