On Thursday 5th December, 8 coaches from the performance squads of CANI left for Lee Valley to observe GB podium coaches and attend the GB Performance Coach Conference. Friday was spent observing Mark Delaney, Mark Radcliffe and Paul Radcliffe with their athletes on the legacy course in the morning and the main olympic course in the afternoon.
In between the sessions we got to go behind the scenes and look at how they recorded and analysed the athletes performances as well as being given a tour of the facility.
Saturday and Sunday was spent at the GB performance coaching conference. Saturday was divided Slalom and Sprint, and Sunday was a variety of workshops from Strength and Conditioning through to the Chimp Paradox.
All CANI performance coaches got a lot from the trip and really came together as a team. Everyone had an excellent time.
CANI would like to thank all at GB canoeing for an excellent few days and sport NI for their support with the Coaching Legacy programme.
