CANI Recognition Awards 2016-17
Marion O’Dornan from County Antrim Paddlesports (CAPS) was presented with her trophy for Club Coach of the Year, as part of CANI’s Recognition Awards 2016-17 during a club session at Antrim Loughshore on Wednesday 14th June 2017 by CANI Chair, Liz McCreery.
Marion is a founding member of CAPS. She has seen and helped the club grow in membership numbers and skills. She regularly coaches the junior section as well as adult groups. She has built up her own skills including level two coach and 4* White Water and touring canoe leader award and has coached members through one and two star as well as Paddlepower awards.
At the award giving, Chair of CAPS, Gerry Moreland said “CAPS is a family orientated club, providing fun opportunities for children and adults. We are lucky to have coaches such as Marion that are prepared to invest such a huge amount of time and energy to make this happen. We are proud that Marion has won this award, it is well deserved.”
Leading CANI recreational paddles, and organising come and try it sessions, along with regular coaching, Marion is great ambassador for Paddlesport and a role model for female paddlers.
