Sport Northern Ireland and the Charity Commission are hosting information evenings regarding recent changes to legislation around charitable registration which may be applicable to yourselves as a sports club.
It is compulsory for all charities operating in Northern Ireland to apply for charity registration and the Commission is urging all charities to prepare now. There are 12 descriptions of charitable purpose, which include the advancement of amateur sport therefore you as a sports club may fall under this category. To find out more information as to whether you are required to register and the effects this may have on your organisation, please indicate if you would like to attend one of the sessions detailed below by emailing gilliangilliland@sportni.net with details of which session you wish to attend.
The three sessions all are provided by the Charity Commission and are titled:
