CANI Equality Committee Recruitment


FINAL REMINDER- APPLICATIONS CLOSE THIS FRIDAY!



CANI are looking for volunteer Equality Committee members for the following positions to help us move to the next stage in our development;

  • Chairperson
  • Secretary
  • Female Lead
  • Ethnic Minority Lead
  • LGBT+ Lead
  • Cross Community Lead
  • Young Person Lead 

The two other roles of Disability Lead and Older Person Lead have been appointed. 


We need individuals who share in our values and vision for paddlesport and who have the skills, qualities, and expertise to help the CANI Equality Committee operate effectively.


Please note: Individuals do not need to be a member of CANI or have experience paddling to apply. 


These roles are voluntary and the roles offer great flexibility to fit around your time as the majority of our work will take place at bi-monthly evening meetings with occasional weekday activities such as conference calls.

New Go Paddling eLearning for New Paddlers




The latest addition to the British Canoeing Awarding Body eLearning library is the new Go Paddling Introduction to Paddlesport!
 

The FREE eLearning is aimed at new or returning paddlers and works through a range of topics from equipment to environment and safety information too. The eLearning is designed to be an easy to use, interactive program which takes no longer than 20 minutes to complete, and educates new paddlers on important topics before heading for the water this summer.

Game, Set, Mash!




Mash Direct is giving sports teams the chance to win a £5,000 sponsorship package.

NI Sports Forum Announce Partnership with Vira Hygiene


The Northern Ireland Sports Forum is delighted to announce a new partnership with commercial hygiene solutions firm Vira Hygiene. Vira Hygiene provide a range of hand sanitiser and hygiene solutions to help businesses and sports organisations maintain a safe environment for facility users.


As part of this partnership, Vira Hygiene will give a 10% discount for sports organisations when purchasing any of their hand sanitiser dispensers. These dispensers can provide a 50% cost saving to manual dispensers and can be uniquely branded to your organisation or facility.


The Vira Hygiene automatic hand sanitiser dispensers can be easily installed throughout your facility to encourage regular use. Their certified alcohol hand sanitiser kills 99.9% of germs to protect against the transfer of viruses and disease. Vira Hygiene are also an approved supplier of the GAA.

Funding Opportunities

 

Sport NI Hardship Fund- £2k- Final Reminder 


 


Sport NI in partnership with the Department for Communities re-opened the Sports Hardship Fund to help sports clubs and other organisations delivering sporting activities, who are experiencing financial hardship.  

The Sports Hardship Fund initially opened on 14 April and has provided support totalling £1.245m to help over 600 sports clubs maintain facilities during the lockdown.

Each successful applicant will receive £2,000 for costs incurred from 1st April 2020.

The fund will close for completed applications at 12 noon on Wednesday 5th August 2020.

Department for Communities Small Capital Grants Through Co-operation Ireland – Up to £5k



 

Department for Communities launch Small  Capital Grants Programme for purchase of equipment.


Co-operation Ireland has been appointed by the Department for Communities (DfC) as the Intermediary Funding Body for the 2020/21 Small Capital Grants Programme for Northern Ireland.  


With a total fund of £800,000, this fund is aimed at assisting voluntary and community organisations purchase items of equipment to enhance and sustain the activities and services they provide in the community.  


Grants are available of between £1500 and £5000 towards the purchase of items such as IT equipment, sporting equipment, catering equipment and material to support arts and cultural activities.  


Applications are invited from constituted organisations with an annual income of no more than £100,000.  


The amount available will be dependent on the number of partners included on an application: 


  • 2 partner groups – up to £1500
  • 3-4 partner groups – up to £3500
  • 5 + partner groups – up to £5000 

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 14th August.
