Big Bann Canoe Challenge

A wonderful opportunity to travel the ancient highway of the Lower Bann River by canoe, experiencing its beauty and wildlife from exceptional position.

The Big Bann canoe challenge is a paddle from Portglenone to Drumaheglis (23km), spread out over 2 days (19th & 20th August 2017), with an overnight camping stop at Movanagher Lock, where you will be looked after by a team of qualified coaches who will help you to enjoy the experience safely and complete the Challenge so that you can say “I’ve been Banned!”

The Big Bann Canoe Challenge is pen to all ages and abilities and is family friendly, as long as medically able to complete a distance of 23km over 2 days. ALL Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

All particiapnts need to have their own camping equipment and should be self sufficient over the 2 days. Paddling equipment can be provided, subject to availability.

£25 per adult, £35 for families. We have kept our fees to a minimum and therefore would ask of the participants to use the opportunity to raise some sponsor money for our chosen charity, which this year is Lough Neagh Rescue.
