BCU appoint Bronze Olympic medallist Media and PR Officer
Bronze Olympic Canoe Slalom medallist Helen Reeves will join the British Canoe Union on 10th August as the national sports governing body’s Media and PR Officer.
Helen will join the BCU and travel with the GB Canoeing – Canoe Slalom and Canoe Sprint teams ahead of the European and World Championships.
Helen won a Bronze medal in 2004 at the Athens Olympics and retired following a successful career in the sport.
Helen is a member of the International Canoe Federation Slalom Committee, has commented for the BBC at major canoe slalom events and has worked in a communications capacity for the sports agency Fasttrack. Helen also has considerable public speaking experience.
The British Canoe Union are bolstering their Marketing and Communications team to further raise the profile of canoe and kayaking in the UK, which continues to be the most popular watersport in the UK.
Helen will be predominantly working with GB Canoeing to raise the profile of the Olympic disciplines; canoe slalom and canoe sprint, but will also be working with Canoe England to promote the sport at a grassroot level.
Helen Reeves will join the Marketing and Communications team which consists of; Coral Jackson (Communications) and Tamsin Phipps (Government & Public Affairs) and Chloe Nelson (Sponsorship and Branding).
