IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL SURF KAYAK & WAVESKI ATHLETES INTERESTED IN COMPETING AS PART OF A NI TEAM IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS, TAKING IN THE 2016 HOME INTERNATIONALS and building towards the 2017 WORLDS…….
In order that folk who are interested in being part of this team have the maximum opportunity to put themselves forward for ranking and selection, the following 4 competition results will be taken into account, with the top 2 results for any individual being used:-
- NI Open – Sept 12th 2015 – for full details follow the link to the event page on facebook
- Irish Open – Oct 3rd 2015 – ranking position will be based on NI athletes competing at this event.
- Comp 1 2016 – February (date and venue tbc)
- Comp 2 2016 – March (date and venue tbc)
This ranking will be used to select individuals to compete in the team event of the 2016 Home Internationals, as a lead up to the Worlds in 2017, and people will be selected from the highest ranking positions in each category – Juniors, Ladies, Men and Masters. The end of March is the cut off point for team selection, to allow sufficient training time leading up to the event. Individuals must attend domestic competitions and be ranked within the home country in order to be part of the Team Event representing that country.
All individuals may compete in the Open categories, representing Northern Ireland, but may not be considered for the Team Event if no ranking is obtained.
