The Annual General Meeting of The Canoe Association of Northern Ireland (CANI) will be held on 8th December 2021 at 19.00, via online video conference call using Zoom.
To join this meeting, you will need to book in advance via the CANI JustGo system. Click here to book on to the CANI AGM Event. A meeting link to join will be sent out in advance of the meeting.
To complete your booking, you will need to log in to your record. If you do not remember your password, you can reset it using the ‘forgot password’ link on the site. The following ordinary resolutions will be put to the meeting:
- To approve the minutes of the 2020 Annual General Meeting
- To elect Stephen Craig to the board
- To elect Gareth Mahood to the board
- To elect Philip Brunt to the board
- To receive the annual report
- To receive the accounts for the year
A member entitled to attend and vote at the above meeting, is entitled to appoint a proxy to attend and vote on their behalf. You can appoint a proxy by completing the proxy form on the CANI JustGo system. Instructions are available here.

Stephen Craig
Stephen has been a member of CANI from the 1980’s. He has served on the CANI board since CANI became a company in 2016 and is standing for his third and final term on the board.
He is started paddling in kayaks before switching to C1 and then to sea kayaks. More recently he is often out in an open canoe. He has been a canoe and kayak coach since the 1980’s and works as a freelance outdoor instructor and part-time lecturer in an FE college.
Gareth Mahood
Gareth started paddling as a youth with Boys’ Brigade and later worked for a summer in America canoeing at a summer camp. He has been a member of CANI for 10 years and has been a board member for 7 years.
He coaches with the Ulster Canoe Club and organises the Ulster Canoe Festival every year.
Philip Brunt
Philip is a keen recreational paddler. He is a retired engineer with many years’ experience at senior management level and has worked in various countries with Michelin.
He has also been involved in many successful business and community projects, including the instigation and establishment of the shopmobility scheme in Ballymena.
Married to Heather (Also a paddler), Phil is keen to use his business and community experience, and his communication skills, to promote paddlesports through CANI, and share the pleasure that he gains from paddling with others.
