Talent Pathway Coach
Canoe Wales are seeking a dynamic coach to join a small team with a performance centred focus of developing the Olympic disciplines of canoe slalom and canoe sprint within Wales. Canoe Wales are looking to develop the talent pathway in these performance disciplines and supporting athletes and coaches to achieve success at the highest level. The successful applicant will play a key role the development of all aspects of performance canoeing within the Olympic disciplines in Wales.
The Canoe Wales Talent Pathway Programme embraces the British Canoeing philosophy and approach to developing talented athletes and aims to create an athlete pathway structure aligned with the British Canoeing performance and long term athlete development strategies, which increases the strength and depth of the talent pool across the UK.
The post will co -ordinate and deliver support to a National development group of slalom athletes (approximately 1/3 of the post time) and co-ordinate regional development of the slalom and sprint programme, with particular reference to mid and North Wales (approximately 2/3 of the post time), providing support to athletes and coaches in a club setting.
The contract is fixed term until the 31st March 2019 subject to Sport Wales funding (which is reviewed on an annual basis) and with possibility of extension.
Starting salary for this post will be £24,500
