Week 3 of the World Cup series was held in Slovakia in Liptovsky Mikulas. With a much more physically demanding course set it was sure to be a great weekend of racing.
In the K1 Women Category where 20 boats go through to the semi-final automatically Hannah Craig finished in 57th position with a time of 111.01+52. After the disappointment of her first run and a silly 50 second penalty Hannah went for broke in her second run where the top 10 progress through to the semi-final, however she ran into difficulties at the bottom of the course and finished in 34th position with a time of 110.15+52
In the K1 Men Category where 30 boats go through to the semi-final automatically Cade Ryan and Elliott Davidson finished 66th and 64th respectively with times of 102.85+4 and 105.39+0. In the second runs where the top 10 progress through to the semi-final they both pushed hard with Cade finishing in 39th with a time of 102.65+4 and Elliott finished in 42nd, he put down a fast time of 101.78+6 however touches left him down the field.
The World Cup Series has a break now until August when the circuit will move to La Seu D’Urgell for round 4. During the period of downtime CANI athlete’s will be hard at work preparing for the World Championships in London which will be in September.
