Coming up to 4 years now.
What motivated you to begin performance canoeing/kayaking?
I have always loved sport and I am very competitive so when I started canoe slalom, I enjoyed the training, it just made sense to compete.

Mat McKnight, Andy Hadfield and Eoin Rheinisch
What have been your greatest achievements thus far?
Competing for Ireland at an international level and competing at European and World Championships.
What do you hope to achieve in the future?
To perform to my maximum potential for Ireland.
Who has been the greatest influence in your career?
My first coaches Hannah Craig and Han Bijnen were very influential in molding my paddling technique and my mental approach to racing.

I am currently not sponsored by anyone.
When you’re not canoeing/kayaking what do you like to do in your spare time?
My favourite sport outside canoe slalom is football. I am a huge Tottenham Hotspurs fan and I watch all their matches. Also when I am not training I like to watch a lot of films.
Do you have any superstitions before you compete?
I have a set music playlist that I listen to before I warm up but other than that I try to stay relaxed and not over think about any of the moves on the course.
Which sporting athlete do you admire the most?
In canoe slalom I like to watch the most are Rafal Polacky and Joe Clark. Outside of kayaking my favourite sports person is Conor McGregor, a UFC fighter, he is such a character and a great fighter. He has such a unique fighting style so he is very interesting to watch.
What if any injuries have you sustained?
A lower back strain.
