How long have you been involved in performance canoeing/kayaking?
I have been in the squad since it first started about 3 years ago.
What motivated you to begin performance canoeing/kayaking?
I attended a Talent ID Day at Shaws Bridge, joined the Surf Squad without really realising what it was all about but it didn’t take long before I was hooked.

What are your greatest achievements thus far?
9th in Long Boat and 11th in Short Boat categories in the World Surf Championships at Pantin, Spain, 2015. Delighted with a 16.8/ 20 score in my last round of the competition in Long Boat.
4th in both Long Boat and Short Boat at The Europeans in Santa Cruz, Portugal 2015
What do you hope to achieve in the future?
I would love to achieve a Junior World title especially in the 2017 World Championships on home ground.

When you’re not canoeing/kayaking what do you like to do in your spare time?
I have a real interest in the design and manufacturing side of things. I have just recently begun to design and produce my own fins and have to thank Pete Spence for all his support and his expertise in helping me get started.
Do you have any superstitions before you compete?
I focus on having fun in the surf.
Who is your most admired sports person?
Andy McClelland has been a great role model – someone I really respect. It’s been great to have been able to paddle with him and to learn from another N.I athlete who has held a Junior World Title. There are many other athletes in the surf kayaking community from Ireland, GB, Europe and Worldwide who really inspire me, many have been generous in sharing their experience and spending time with me.
What, if any injuries have you sustained?
