Now that you find yourself passing on your skills and knowledge to other paddlers, the British Canoeing United Kingdom Coaching Certificate (British Canoeing UKCC) Coaching Scheme would be an excellent way for you to advance those skills even further by becoming a coach.

British Canoeing provides a comprehensive coaching qualification scheme and coach education programme. British Canoeing UKCC Coaching Scheme has 4 levels and  further information can be found under the Coaching Awards.

Further learning for your coaching can also be achieved by attending Endorsement Courses, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Modules or Discipline Support Modules, please follow links for further information.

If you are already a British Canoeing or British Canoeing UKCC coach and you want to further develop your coaching background there are a number of options available. As a British Canoeing coach you have options to transfer into the British Canoeing UKCC scheme and continue your coaching pathway, or continue on your pathway of learning by taking part in the wide range of CPD courses on offer. As a British Canoeing UKCC coach you also have the option to broaden your learning through CPD or endorsement courses or by continuing to the next level of coach.

Accredited Prior Learning (APL) is another avenue that British Canoeing has on offer. The APL process allows a coach or aspirant coach to apply to have any of their prior learning identified as being of equal or higher standard to a British Canoeing training course or award. British Canoeing recognises that an individual may have relevant experiences from other sports, countries and learning opportunities that they can bring to their Paddlesport coaching.
