DSD Small Grants for Volunteering

Limavady Community Development Initiative Ltd (LCDI), acting as lead partner for the Association of Independent Volunteer Centres (AIVC), are responsible for administering the Volunteering Small Grants programme as part of NI’s Volunteering Strategy “Join in, get involved: build a better future”.

The DSD Minister Nelson McCausland has officially launched the programme at Stormont. We have £600k to spend between April 1st 2014 and March 31st 2015. This gives groups the opportunity to claim for a whole years costs if they so choose.

These grants of between £200 and £1500 can make a significance difference in supporting volunteering in your community.

We would appreciate your help in spreading the word in your area. There is a very tight deadline for applications, so your help will be vital in ensuring that information gets out to all the groups in your networks. It would be brilliant if you could distribute the attachment to the groups in your network and encourage them to apply. The deadline for return of completed applications is February 28th 2013.

Tranche 1 of the Small Grants programme has been overwhelmingly successful with significant oversubscription of applications. We expect the competition to be even greater in this round; therefore it is of vital importance in getting the word out to all the groups in your area and encouraging them to submit an application.

After the deadline, completed applications will be assessed by regional panels. If you would like to be part of the assessment panel in your area please contact our grants officer on 028 777 65438 or by email info@aivcni.co.uk
